Well lets start a new subject. How many of you either make your own music or have your home studios. And if you do, where do you get your loops, what software is used and how do you come up with ideas? ____I have somewhat of a studio (wannabe studio) lol... I'm just a hobbyist with a small budget. My computer is a Dell precision workstation. I don't remember the spec's on it. Software is Ableton Live 7 and Pro tools 7.1. Plug-ins are Hybrid, Strike, Xpand, Structire, AmpliTube, Sample Tank, BFD. Hardware is M-Audio Oxygen49 midi keyboard, Korg Electribe SX-1, Behringer XENYX 1204FX Mixer, and Yamaha HS50M Monitors. DJ set up is Numark Axis 8 & 9 CDJs, a old ass Gemini turntable, Pioneer DJM-400 Mixer, Torq conectiv, and 12" & 15" speakers. I like to make a lot of my loops with the Korg ESX-1. When it comes to ideas, I tend to just wing it and play around and tweek till I stumble across something that sounds cool for what ever type of vibe I'm in at the time.

You can go to my page for more pic's.

Yea, I have my own studio. I put it together about a year ago. It's nothing special but it puts out stellar material. My station is a Quad core (running 12 gigs across the chip), 4 gig, Asus Xonar sound processor, with dual 24 in LCD rig. For live mixes off the Tech's I use an external Lexicon sound processor that plugs in via USB. DJ set up is 2 tech 12's, Rane Empath Grandmaster Flash edition and pair of Mackie active SA1521's. For production I use Logic studio 8 with to many plugins to name. A M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 MIDI controler to throw down with and i'm currently researching the best studio moniters i can get as far as sound quality/replication so I can switch between 7.1, studio, and club set up which helps me master the tracks i'm working on. I feel doing that will give you an all around perspective on how your track sounds as your laying it down.

My next purchase is a Mac Pro and will be running Logic off that. Currently I'm creating off my Mac Book Pro 2.4 17in laptop which in my mind is the best laptop on the market.
